Thrifty Finds!

Hello lovelies! How are yall today?

I found some really cute tops at Goodwill the other day! Yep, you heard me. Goodwill. Most people think that Goodwill is just for old people, but if you take the time to look, you can find some really great things in there. Granted the Goodwill in Vegas where I used to live, had a little more name brand items versus the one currently in my small town. Apparently the grey shirt is from a England/European store, and the shirts are around 50-70 pounds or about $75-$105.

White Shirt: LC Lauren Conrad
Black Turtle Neck: Cherokee Clothing/ Target

New Hair!

Hello Lovelies!

Sorry its been a while! I've been busy with moving back to my home state and starting school again. Hopefully, during this upcoming winter break I will be able to get back into my blogging and vlogging for my Youtube channel.

An update for those who don't follow me on my social media accounts, I cut my hair and have gone blonde! A girl I used to work with a few years back did my hair at her new salon location. We did two sessions to go lighter for a balayage effect on my hair. I do also use the purple shampoo by Shimmer Lights to keep my hair on the cooler side and have an ashy tone to it. So here is the transformation!

Ballerina, firefighter, astronaut, or future president. When we were little, we all wanted to be something extraordinary and change the world. But as you get older, those dream jobs seem to be just that, dreams. For some kids, that dream lasts with them up into high school and even into college. Some are lucky and brave enough to follow their dreams and actually get a career that they always wanted. But what about the rest of us who don't know what they want to do or change their mind every other minute?

I know I am one of those souls who can't make up her mind. It's not that I don't know what I want to do, its that I want to do everything. On some days I want to travel the world and document all of its beauty, and on others, I want to be front row at a fashion show looking at my creation (or even walking the runway). I want to teach domestic and international classrooms, I want to dig for ancient remains and have a discovery of mine on display at a museum, I even want to study all the marine life and the mysteries the ocean has. So what does one do when they have a passion for everything?

I struggle with this everyday and so far it seems like my occupation will be a forever student, someone who will always be in school. I know that saying, "Pick something you love and you will never work a day in your life" should be changed to "Pick something you love and you will never work a day in your life because they probably aren't hiring" because that seems to be about right.

I just wish I knew what career/major would be the best fit for me. And then once I figure that out, knowing how to get a job with that field.

Another struggle is the high tuition prices of schools that keep rising. Why does the government make it harder to go to school by rising the prices of education? In my situation is that I received no financial aid and no scholarships to help with school. I was accepted by all types of schools, from public to private, and not one was going to help.

All in all, I would be grateful to have a crystal ball to tell me how things are going to end up or have some cosmic push towards what I should do.

Thank you all for letting me go on about this. It is something that has been bothering me for a while. If you too find yourself in this situation, tell me about it! I would love to hear from other people and know that I am not alone.

Best of wishes to everyone!

Love,

A

White Romper

Summer is a wonderful time to wear rompers! I got this cute white laced romper from a store called Ever back when I lived in Vegas. They always had the cutest clothes for the best prices!

I paired this white romper with a pair of brown wedges from Target. If you have noticed with some of my other posts, I wear these a lot. These are one of my favorite because they have cushion unlike some other wedges. I just wore a low bun for this look because it was very windy and hot out.

I also spent the day downtown with one of my best friends. It was good to walk around my hometown again. I just love that we are right next to this huge river! Maybe one day I'll go out and take some pictures around downtown!

Geometric Pattern Sundress

Hello my lovely readers! I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! I know I did!

For this look, I wore a cute summer dress with a pair of cute sandals that I got from Ross. I LOVE that store by the way! For my hair, since it was hot out, I just braided both sides into a bun!

If y'all have any ideas of what you would like me to post, don't be afraid to let me know!

Belated Cold Spring Look

Hey everyone! Sorry its been a while since I last posted. I've been moving and traveling cross country so I didn't have any time to post anything. For now while I'm still getting settled in, I have a few outfits that I did before I left I can post till I get back into the groove of things.

This outfit is something you can wear when it's a bit on the cooler side. The top remains a fun flowy summer top, but when you add the leggings to it, it gives it that hint of fall to it. To keep it a spring/summer look, I just added a pair of comfy brown wedges to the look. Obviously, I don't mind mixing brown and black.

Top: CY USA from EVER
Leggings: Rue21
Shoes: From My Mom's Closet

All Black

Hello lovely people! Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted anything. No fear, today's post shows one of my favorite outfits! I love wearing all black, my dog does not. My dog sheds white hair so it is hard for me to wear black because I'm always lent rolling myself. But, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

My mom, actually picked out my top for me and to be honest my mom still helps me buy clothes. I mean why not, she has great taste! This oversized top is super comfy. So I paired the comfy top with a pair of leggings. Since it's warmer out, I decided not to wear closed toe shoes.

Overall, this is one of my favorite outfits! It makes your figure look good, is comfy, and its all black!

Shirt: TJ Maxx
Leggings: Rue21
Shoes: Dillards

All White, With A Touch of Purple

I am loving my new purple hair color! Surprisingly, I feel like it makes me look older. I thought it would make me look like one of those young teenagers who dyed their hair crazy colors and looked like a hotmess. But, it turned out quite nicely.

It was a cold and rainy day out in Vegas so that was a surprise! Its been slowly, and disappointingly, getting hotter around here. But with the rain coming in, it has made the atmosphere feel like I am back in the fall time, which I'm quite alright with. Since most of my clothes, okay all but like five pieces of clothing, are packed, I have a new challenge of coming up with outfits with what I have left in my closet.

When looking for something to wear, I realized I had summer clothes out and now cold weather clothes. But I found a pair of jeans I left out for a just in case, which I'm glad I did! So I paired a lace tank-top with my jeans. I rolled them up because I like that look when I wear wedges or heels with jeans. Next, I need a jacket because a tank-top is not going to keep me warm. So my mom had this cute asymetrical jacket in her closet that she let me wear, and ta-da, my outfit of the day!

A

So...I Dyed My Hair!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've haven't posted anything in a while, it's been crazy. I've been packing and finishing my class. But once I got some free time, I decided, why not dye my hair? I've had my hair every natural color: red, brown, blonde, and black. So, this time I wanted to do something different. With the help of my mom, I dyed my hair purple.

If you are wanting to do the same, here is what I did.

Supplies:

-Bleach
-Manic Panic: Rockabilly Blue and Hot Hot Pink
-A mixing bowl
-A color brush
-An old towel
-Gloves
-An old t-shirt

Directions:

1.) After you get your supplies (All the hair dying supplies can be found at Sally's Beauty Supply), go ahead and put on an old t-shirt that you don't mind getting dye on.
---You can put the old towel around your shoulders if you would like to make sure you don't get dye on your neck---

2.) You can now bleach your hair, that is if you haven't already. Bleaching is not required but it can help hold the color and it make it more vibrant. As you can see from the picture above, the end of my hair was bleached already from my ombre I had down a month or so prior.

3.) Next, you want to put your gloves on and grab your mixing bowl and color brush. What I did to get this color purple, was mix two Manic Panic colors together. Those colors were Rockabilly Blue and Hot Hot Pink. Just mix the two colors together until you get the shade of purple you like.

4.) This step is pretty simple, just put the Manic Panic in your hair. The Manic Panic containers say don't put on scalp and 2 inches from the scalp. If you do, your scalp may turn purple.

5.) Once my mom had the color where I wanted, she put my hair up with a clip and then we put an old plastic bag (not pictured) on my hair to keep all together and not get dye on anything. I left the dye on my hair for about 45 mins. The container says from 30-60 mins.

6.) Next I just washed it out

Overall, the color came out nicely. The only thing I did not like is after like two or three washes, the color was still running in the water. Also after I dried my hair after it was done, it sort of turned everything blue, like my shirt, pillow case, and the couch. It was a fun hair dye that won't stay long in my hair. If I decided to go back to this color, I might get it done professionally because of the mess.

If y'all have any requests on what I should post, just let me know!

Love,

A

Tori Kelly: Nobody Love

Have you checked out Tori Kelly out? I have heard this song once before and it was an ad before a YouTube clip I was watching.

If you need a song to start your Friday off, this is a wonderful song! This song with its splashes of pop and hip-hop sounds make it a good song to dance to. Speaking of dance to, this song will also work for a Friday night party or club song!

If you enjoyed this song, here are some of her links so you can hear more:

*This is my all my opinion. I did this on my own, and was not told to do so by anyone.*

Is It Summer Yet?

So today I am wearing a lovely, off-the-shoulder dress! This is the first time I've worn something like this, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Today my mother, brother and I went to Olive Garden. Let me just say this, I am surprised I am not 200 lbs as much as I eat there. If you are headed to Olive Garden anytime soon, I would suggest getting the Northern Tour of Italy entree. It is delicious. It has my three favorite dishes in it; tortellini, fettuccine with portobello alfredo sauce, and this crusted chicken thing with cheese and bacon all over it.

It's May!

Today is May 1st, in case you haven't had a chance to check a calendar!

I'm excited for this month for a few reasons. First it's my little brother's birthday (17 *sad face*). This is his first birthday away from our family, we moved across the country. But hey, we'll make it work!

May is also the time for finals!! I know a lot of you may have already have your LDOC (last day of class) but mine is in like two more weeks, boo. Once I finish this spring term, I will be beginning two online summer courses. And the sad thing about that is that it begins the week after my spring class ends. I am taking basic anatomy and physiology and medical terminology one. These are a few prerequisite classes for some of the health care programs at the community college. I just applied for the medical assisting program for this year and in the spring I'm going to apply for the radiology and medical sonography program, in the hopes in getting accepting one of those two. I hopping that getting a diploma or associates (haven't decided yet) will help me get into one of those two programs.

But, my favorite thing about this month? It marks one month till we move back home!! I am so excited to be going back home to my friends and family. Don't get me wrong, Vegas is amazing, but I am more of a small town kind of gal. One thing they don't tell you when you move out here is how hard it is to make friends. And even find a significant other because a majority of the people you meet are here for vacation.

Anywho, I hope every has a wonderful May and a wonderful day :)

Love,

A

Throwback Thursday! College Edition!

Hey everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while :(

Today's #throwbackthursday is the day I graduated from community college! It is important for me because I attended community college while I was in high school. So when I graduated high school, I also graduated with an associates degree. Or should I say 5 associates degrees! You read that right. I worked my tail off and was able to revcieve 5 degrees.

I was so proud of myself. At the age of 19 (My high school program was 5 years, they paid for my college :p) I had a high school diploma and 5 associates degrees.

So I'll leave this throwback Thursday with one of my favorite memories.

If you want to share any of your graduation memories just leave them in the comments :)

Love,

A
